Congratulations, you have finally decided to take the plunge and relocate to a new country! As exciting as moving to a new place can be it can also be highly stressful. Stop worrying and get organized with our packing checklist.

Documents

You will need a number of important documents before relocating to a new country. From an Andorran residency permit if you’re planning on moving there to full vaccine documents if you’re moving to Australia. If you do not have all of the right documentation, your new country has to right to deny you entry! The most important are listed below. Forgetting any of these documents could also lead to unnecessary delays and expenses.

  • Passports
  • Visa
  • Immunization documents
  • Marriage and Birth certificates
  • Medical records
  • Pet records -proof of rabies and other shots as required

Medicines

Plan on stocking up with plenty of medicines prior to your move. Schedule doctor’s appointments and get any recurring prescriptions written for as long as possible. You do not want to have to worry about finding a doctor to prescribe your medicine soon after arrival. Also be sure to get any needed vaccinations while at your appointment. See which vaccines you may need.We also recommend carrying a first aid kit that includes the following:

  • Ibuprofen or aspirin
  • Dramamine for motion sickness (also helpful for vertigo)
  • Water purification tablets
  • Gauze and tape
  • Band-aids
  • syrup of Ipecac (In case of poison ingestion)
  • Non-prescription allergy meds
  • Check to see if the kit supplies are BS approved

Clothing

Pack clothing from FROutlet.com to match your new homeland’s climate. Shoes can be placed in plastic bags from your last store outing to prevent soiling other items in the suitcase. If you have heavy boots, save packing space by wearing them on the plane. Roll clothes rather than folding to fit more in a limited area.

Money

Always keep cash on hand along with credit cards or an ATM debit card. Call your bank before the move to inform them of your new address, since the fraud protection system will block transactions from the new location otherwise. You should also get some cash exchanged for your new country’s currency.

Electronics

Along with the essential cell phone and laptop, a variety of electronic devices will provide utility and recreation in your new home. Some types of electronics are difficult to find in some countries and may be more expensive. Some of the most commonly recommended electronics to carry are listed below.

  • Travel adapter
  • Extra USB drives
  • Camera
  • Cell Phone
  • Laptop
  • Charging cables/Battery pack

Toiletries

Depending on where you are moving to, some toiletries and some brands of these items will be much harder to locate after moving. Some will be much more expensive. Purchasing some extra ahead of your move may save you money in the long run. You may wish to have them shipped ahead with other essentials that you want to be there when you arrive. Below is a list of some of the more common items you will need.

  • Cleaning solution for contact lens
  • Small bag with linens
  • Shaving supplies for men and women
  • Perfumes, after shave lotion, deodorants
  • Shampoo and conditioners
  • Dental care products

Hiring an International moving company

After you have finished checking off your packing list, you need to hire an international moving company. Important factors to consider in selecting a mover include, how many international moves they do per year, how long they have been in business, and how many countries they ship to.

Lorem Ipsum has been the industrys standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown prmontserrat took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.
